a routine routine

I swear to god I felt like a drug abuse
It was my shortest visit to the doctor
8 in the morning
I didn't even sit and talked about what I felt
I said "Good morning"
He said "Good morning" and made a gesture to let me come inside the room
I went directly to the examination bed
He checked me with stethoscope without saying a word
Then he looked at my throat
He turned off his flashlight and said "They swell"
I knew exactly what he meant
But I needed to say something so he knew I was alive
"What?"
"Your tonsils.."
One predictable answer
He wrote a prescription, quietly
After.. "You really have to finish them all"
Another predictable note
I gave him the money, without replied to anything he just said
He said "Thank you"
I said "Thank you"
He walked me to the door
I said good bye

It wasn't more than 3 minutes
